The Answer to a Lifetime Struggle

"Stop getting so easily distracted!"

"You need to be better at remembering where you placed things!"

"Wait your turn to talk."

"If you focused as much on what actually matters as you do on movies/wrestling/comics/Star Wars/storytelling, you'd be more successful."

"You need to pay attention more."

"You're too sensitive. You're overreacting."

"Why do you make everything so complicated?"

I've heard variations of these my entire life. No matter how hard I tried to “fix” them, it was never enough. It always felt like I was failing at things that seemed effortless for everyone else.

Then, last November, I was diagnosed as neurodivergent. It didn’t magically make everything better, but it changed the way I saw myself. I wasn’t struggling because I wasn’t "trying hard enough"—my brain is just wired differently.

Now, I’m learning to work with my brain instead of constantly fighting against it. The challenges are still there, but I finally have a path forward.

Most importantly, this journey has made me more empathetic. We never know the full story behind someone’s struggles. If sharing my experience helps even one person feel less alone, then it’s worth it.

I will continue to be vulnerable and honest while also finally delivering al movie reviews, pop culture insights, and podcasts.
