How Would You Want the Site to Monetize?

Apologies for the site still failing to get rolling, but my life is a tsunami on top of the career I'm slowly resuscitating. The plan is to slowly start building things back up. I've mentioned before I have big plans for various pop culture pieces, reviews of media besides movies, video versions of the podcasts, and a stream of various creative projects.

But for now, the focus will mostly be getting the podcast back to weekly, and writing reviews for new releases along with a few other pop culture-laden personal anecdotes that offer a little more heft than my current just throw-something-up daily output.

As I grow things again, I can't help thinking of ways to monetize the site so that I can devote more time to making it something special.

How would you like it done?

Should I just go with ads on the site, and try to make it as pleasing as possible, and maybe also look at some affiliate marketing attached to movie reviews. The one issue with this is that it is unlikely to be enough to really increase revenue. I still may need to either look at other options or just rely on my 'day job to fund things, but that also then means less time for this.

I've contemplated Patreon for years now. I think I could do a separate one for the podcast and another for the site, and potentially look at ad-free versions of the podcast for subscribers at a certain tier. I'd also try to figure out some bonus articles and creations as well (I really hate using the word content).

There is also Substack. I haven't figured out if it is better to use it as another form of just sending what I write on here, or what is probably the better option, creating a newsletter that offers new articles. It would likely be one of the review series I've been peddling or the serialized fiction.

For now, if you want to help me out then please consider donating a little money over at my PayPal. We've been hit with some unexpected expenses and my career is still in a rebuilding phase. Any little bit would really help out my family. As always, thank you for your support.
